bloodkaika Impossible for me to pick a favorite track because each and every one of these songs has my heart in a deathgrip.

Owen W In the recent trend of metal bands releasing folk EPs, Valhalore distinguish themselves from the rest by bringing the bombast from their viking metal sound to these folk compositions. Filled with lush strings, woodwinds, and harmonies, these songs still create a presence as powerful as Valhalore's metal songs, while showing how strong the band's melodies are by stripping back the presentation. With this EP, Valhalore have proven they can make acoustic music as captivating as their metal music. Favorite track: Guardians of Time (Acoustic).
Arrogant Bastard
Arrogant Bastard thumbnail
Arrogant Bastard Is yet another folk/black metal band going soft on us? You better believe it and I couldn't be more pleased. Solace & Solitude is another idyllic acoustic rendition in the same vein as Winterfylleth, Oak Pantheon and Thrawsunblat's 2018 folky/acoustic compositions.
If you've even a passing interest in the above mentioned albums, this should vigorously tickle said fancy. Favorite track: Solace.

Solace 04:26
Nightfall embraces the day Enshrouding the world in her ebony cloak As I make my way home through the silence and snow My mind starts to journey beyond I dream of a land before time All the riches of nature in symphony And I cherish them all with a grateful man’s heart For no longer alone do I dwell From solitary slumber I wake With a vision of heaven asleep by my side As the sand grains of time slip away into memory Awaken desires most deep I never knew my life could be So indescribable with colour and fantasy And I wanted to be what you wanted of me When I took my place in the stars Greet the morning with me What shall it be? Enraptured by dreams? Tell me, teach me to fly My soul can be free

Do you feel the thorns? Do you see the tears? Do you see the bloodshed in this fell war? Have you forsaken us? Have you forgotten our faithful men calling your name? While I stand before you While we perish While I lay down a crimson rose While holding hands are forced apart While hopes bog like condemned men Were you there? The sky is falling on me As your hand's turning old and weak I'm giving myself upon to thee A futile sacrifice gone sere In your nemeton These grey stone walls are cold and silent As the fallen mother gone deaf Mistress of shattered hopes And forever broken dreams Were you there? The sky is falling on me As your hand's turning old and weak I'm giving myself upon to thee A futile sacrifice gone sere Were you there? Were you there? The sky is falling on me As your hand's turning old and weak I'm giving myself upon to thee A futile sacrifice gone sere Falling on me

As I wonder at the beauty of nature around me And the moonlight it gleams through the canopy above Enraptured I’m captured and taken aback By the calming embrace of the forests I love The roots of the trees so deep and so dark Implanted in the ground, once the seedlings of time The song of the leaves and the words of the bark The whisper, come hither, that intrigues my troubled mind I’m carried away by the sound of the silence With grace and beauty divine My mind starts to wander of fantastic beasts The vivid most fantasy trapped in a starry-eyed child Spears shall be shaken, wind time, wolf time Ere the moon falls Brother kill brother for purpose divine Ere the world falls
4.
Now you all know The bards and their songs When hours have gone by I'll close my eyes In a world far away We may meet again But now hear my song About the dawn of the night Let's sing the bards' song Tomorrow will take us away Far from home No one will ever know our names But the bards' songs will remain Tomorrow will take it away The fear of today It will be gone Due to our magic songs There's only one song Left in my mind Tales of a brave man Who lived far from here Now the bard songs are over And it's time to leave No one should ask you for the name Of the one Who tells the story Tomorrow will take us away Far from home No one will ever know our names But the bards' songs will remain Tomorrow all will be known And you're not alone So don't be afraid In the dark and cold 'Cause the bards' songs will remain They all will remain In my thoughts and in my dreams They're always in my mind These songs of hobbits, dwarves and men And elves Come close your eyes You can see them too

Solitude 04:17
Softly now, close your eyes And breathe with me for one final time Signs of life and the love that we shared In a fleeting moment of happiness Countless nights I have spent So lost in you, hung on every word Sleep then comes and carries you away And I’m left in the melancholy silence Kiss me slowly and hold me close Think of me as your life unfolds Cherish the memories and savour the joy That we felt as we danced through the stars Look at me with a smile in your eyes No more tears no fears of goodbye Thankful now for the time that we spent Dancing our way through the stars So kiss me slowly and hold me close Think of me as your life unfolds Cherish the memories and savour the joy That we felt as we danced through the stars Sharing the moon we look to the sky Searching for truth and a reason why Solace and calm are the places we seek Only in you could my soul be free

about

An intimate glimpse of VALHALORE’s softer side, the SOLACE & SOLITUDE EP demonstrates the limitless potential by the band. On the EP, VALHALORE’s two original songs “Solace” and “Solitude” are accompanied by an acoustic rendition of “Guardians of Time” and two covers: “A Rose for Epona” by Eluveitie, and “The Bard’s Song” by Blind Guardian. The hauntingly raw and beautiful atmosphere captured in these songs is sure to irrefutably impact metal and non-metal fans alike. As an all-acoustic release, the SOLACE & SOLITUDE EP is sure to leave listeners immersed in voiceless bewilderment.
